Street photography is NOT a photograph of an empty street, traffic lights or graffiti. If you want to find out what street photography is really about check out the The Yard Collective [link]
My daughter's getting a fisheye camera, I will play with that after Christmas She scanned a bunch of my old photographs, from a plastic 35 mm camera in it's death throes... horrendous light leaks. She had to show them to her Holga-Lomo friends. They were crap 12 years ago, they are crap today, but her friends like then I had to let her use my computer to upload work to a music venue's website, she was standing in for Holga friend as he's their official photographer. I bit my lip looking at what she was uploading, some of her worst work ever. She was attempting to "maintain the photographic style of the site" it was a dreadful pile of toy camera shite! It reminded me of the tres fashionable Face Magazine (and T.V. show) of the late 80s. The camera work in the T.V. show, I think they fed acid to chimps on roller skates and let them film the show Their magazine fashion shoots were confusing, how does a blurry, partial image of model sell an item of clothing? It always struck me as anti-photography. Experiment is fun, abstract and conceptual photographers produce wonderful images with toy cameras. But having read the rules of Lomography, they seem to embrace every piece of crap produced as a work of art... I don't buy that
