Lots of exciting things happening here but I'll keep this brief.
I finally got around to developing my own film again. I managed to find much cheapness on eBay (I
eBay) so I bought the kit (tank, measuring jug, thermometer, changing bag) and the chemicals and processed my first roll yesterday. Considering it's been over 30 years since I last did it, I did an OK job, I think.
If you are thinking about processing your own film and have never tried it, I can really recommend it. It's a lot cheaper than lab processing, it's fun, it's easy (this idiot can do it) and it's immensely satisfying.
As you can imagine, I was keen to get the freshly dried negs through the scanner and have a look-see. I dug out the scanner but couldn't find the power adapter for it
I can't find the damn thing anywhere. I suspect I threw it away thinking it was the charger for an old phone
As it happens, and this is the exciting bit, I was just about to replace the scanner anyway because I've ordered a new camera
It's a Mamiya 645 (6x4.5cm medium format, film, early 80's retro brick) and the old scanner only did 35mm negs.
More details after it arrives and I've had a chance to play with it.This week's features
