Hi folks, I hope you all had a good weekend.

I did another family portrait shoot on Saturday: fun, scary, more crawling about on the floor. I need to shoot taller subjects, my poor old knees aren't what they once were :)

Which reminds me of a quote by photographer and English politician, Tony Benn:

"Most things in life are moments of pleasure and a lifetime of embarrassment; photography is a moment of embarrassment and a lifetime of pleasure."

What's the most undignified thing you've done to get a shot?

The features

And, yes, I said no photography but I just had to feature this remarkable image

  • Mood: Tired
  • Listening to: Led Zeppelin
  • Drinking: Beer

Great stories and awesome features!!! DA needs more artists like these! My awkward photo experiences really arent that extraordinary. Ive done the goose poop thing too but I had a plastic bag with me and Canada geese are so plentiful here and around the world really that they make for boring photos. The most dangerous situation was my photos on the west coast of Vancouver island. The one spot I went to was full of tide poos an eagle and gorgeous scenery but I late found out that there was a danger of rogue waves just randomly washing people out to sea never to be seen again. That said I am still pathetically shy about photographing strangers Id take rogue waves any day!

Hey there Mr. C, nice to hear from you.
I know what you mean, I wish I had more confidence photographing strangers. I love street photography but I guess that's something I'll have to pass on.

It sucks when you miss very good opportunities like the time I crossed paths with a young woman sporting a pink mohawk and her yappy one eyed dog! I had my camera and everything just wimped out and the dog hated me.

Yeah, the more time is spend photographing the more I notice interesting people I would love to shoot, and I always wimp out :(

Beautiful choices :) I hope the author of the last one has survived the attack.

I always thought he had a very striking, almost messianic look and the deviation captures that very well. Thanks for suggesting it.
